1. Who you are contracting with

Mindalva is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY], [ADDRESS], Portugal (NIF [NIF]). These terms are governed by Portuguese law, and the courts of Portugal have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.

2. What Mindalva is

Mindalva asks you structured questions and reports which criteria from the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders your answers do and do not reach. It shows the reasoning behind each conclusion and states plainly what it could not establish.

3. What Mindalva is not

It is not a diagnosis and it is not medical advice. It cannot be used to obtain medication, workplace or academic adjustments, benefits, or insurance cover. Those require assessment by a clinician licensed where you live, and no report from this service substitutes for one.

No clinician reviews your assessment. Nobody observes you. Nothing you report is corroborated with anyone who knows you, and physical causes — thyroid disorders, vitamin deficiencies, sleep disorders, medication effects — cannot be excluded without examination and blood tests. A result saying the criteria are met means your answers reached those criteria, not that you have the condition. A result saying they are not met does not mean nothing is wrong.

Mindalva is not an emergency service. Nobody reads what you write. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency number, or find a crisis line at findahelpline.com.

4. Who may use it

You must be 18 or over. The instruments and modules are validated or constructed for adults, and results for anyone younger are not meaningful.

5. Your answers

Answer honestly or the result is worthless — that is the whole of the obligation. Your answers stay in your browser; we do not store them. Because of that, clearing your browser data, switching device, or using private browsing will lose an assessment in progress, and we cannot recover it. See the privacy policy.

6. Paying

The full assessment costs €20 as a one-off payment, taken by Stripe. We never see your card details. Access lasts 30 days from payment and is tied to the browser you use, or to the emailed link. Refunds are covered in the refund policy.

Access codes are issued at our discretion to clinicians, partners, and reviewers. They grant the same assessment without payment and may be withdrawn at any time.

7. Availability

We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted. Where the assessment relies on a third-party language model and that provider is unavailable, the report is still produced — it simply omits the analysis of what you wrote in your own words. The criterion-by-criterion findings do not depend on it.

8. What we are responsible for

We are liable for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing here limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

Beyond that, and because this service explicitly does not diagnose, we are not liable for decisions taken on the basis of a report — including delaying or forgoing clinical care. Where liability can lawfully be limited, it is limited to what you paid us.

9. What you may not do

• Use it for anyone other than yourself, or on someone else’s behalf without their knowledge.
• Present a report as a diagnosis, or as the work of a clinician.
• Resell access, or share an access code beyond the person it was issued to.
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute the questions.

10. The questions themselves

Some instruments used in the free screening are published by third parties and remain their copyright; they are used under their own terms. The long-form assessment modules are our own work, written for this service. They have no published norms, cut-off scores, or validation data, which each module states where you can see it.

11. Changes

We may change these terms. Changes take effect when posted, and the terms in force when you paid continue to govern that assessment.
